| Deep dark red with violet hues. Soft, abundant nose of rich black fruit with a hint of spice and tasty sweet oak. Delicious concentrated black cherry, blackberry and plum flavours enhanced by soft tannins lead to a rich, long and satisfying finish. Established by Bob & Cherie Berton in May 1996 with 75 acres. The heart of Berton Vineyards is their own personal plot in a sub-region of Eden Valley in South Australia. This idyllic property sits at 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills. Viticulturists and winemakers are declaring this to be the regions best in over a decade. While quantity is down, overall there has been a significant and directly proportional lift in quality. This reduced harvest is attributed to decreased availability of water, cool-to-moderate spring weather resulting in a slow start to shoot development, and low sub-soil moisture level during those months. The fruit presented was extremely clean and disease-free.Winemakers are especially impressed with the brilliant colour for the red this vintage. To summarize, the reds are outstanding in terms of colour, ripe fruit expression and tannin development. Grapes: 100% Shiraz Region: Riverina, Australia Vintage: 2010 Alc: 14%, RS 2.4g/l Serve: Enjoy with spicy lamb dishes or mushroom risotto or simply anytime! Notes: This Shiraz is a deep dark cherry colour with vibrant hues. The nose is very expressive with abundant aromas of red fruits such as black cherry and raspberries. The palate displays flavours of ripe plum and cherry that is supported by fine vanillin tannins that underpin the flavours for a rich, long and satisfying finish. | Available Options: | | Vintage: | | |
